I remember when I was 13 years old , my 2 girlfriends & I stood on her house steps on O'Donnal St . ( in Baltimore ) & her Mom took a picture of us 3 . When we got the pictures back there was a white figure of a woman standing in the up stairs window in the picture ! I almost shit ! I never spent the night there again . hahahahaah All sorts of weird stuff used to happen in my Mom's house on Grundy St. too , I saw her Mom ( my grandmother ) going down the up stairs hallway one night , scared me to death . I'm not afraid anymore but I was when I was little . I have a few sites bookmarked form the Ghost Hunters Society . Some of the sounds really give you the creeps . I want to go back to New Orleans again one day , but this time I want to stay at Southern Nights bed & breakfast , it's haunted or the Bourbon Orleans Hotel it's haunted too .My sister's could tell you some stories too about stuff going on in my Mom's old hose . A little girl was killed there too , she fell down the basement steps . All us kid fell down them steps too when we where little . Thank God none of us got hurt bad . When my sister Dee first had her daughter she would here a voice during the night that would tell her to go kill the baby ! Scared her to death ! She moved out .The lights came on & off by them self , stove turned on , doors came open , etc. We all saw something in that house at one time or other . None of us wanted to keep that house or live in it when my parents die Submitted by Mimi in West Virginia SPIRIT IN THE HOUSE Three years ago we moved into a house that was built in 1956 (the same year I was born). I fell in love with the house the first time I saw it, and when I found out when it was built I told my husband we had to have it. I knew the first time I walked into the house that there was someone else here (I've been very sensitive my whole life) and it did not bother me because I felt nothing evil in the spirit, only a very deep sadness. The first few months were quiet, and I didn't say anything to my husband or son about the entity. I would see her every once and awhile, but that was the extent of it. Then I began to notice that I no longer felt the sadness, but a very peaceful feeling when she was around. A couple of times I would chew my son (then 9) out for something it later turned out he didn't do. When this happened I would feel her anger. Never anything threatening, and after a couple of hours the peaceful feeling would come back. My sister came by after work one day for an hour or so, and called me later that night to ask me if there was someone here. I had never said a word. We spoke about it the next weekend, and it was the first time my husband had heard about her (he's never had an experience, but he's not a disbeliever). I told my sister and my husband not to say a word about it in front of my son, I wasn't sure how he would react, and I didn't want him to be afraid. Time passed, and one evening my son asked my husband and me if the house was haunted. I told him no, the house is not haunted. He asked who the lady was he saw all the time. At this point he was more curious than upset or frightened so I decided to confess, that we do have a being here with us. He told me he sees her all the time, then went on to describe her. He also said that he never felt threatened, he said he kind of felt like she was watching over him. A couple of months ago my sister spent the weekend with us. The next morning when I got up she was sitting at the kitchen table drinking coffee when I walked in. She started asking me questions about the lady's appearance, things like-does she have brown hair? I finally had to ask her how she was able to describe the lady so perfectly. I had to laugh when my sister replied, "she walked in right behind you this morning." We openly discuss our room mate now, and my son says that he often wakes up at night to see her sitting in the bay window seat in his bedroom, watching over him while he's asleep. He says he always feels safer, and she sends him sweet dreams. Submitted by a reader in New Mexico
LOST SOULS This didn't actually happen to me but to my Wife and her family. In the early 1980's my wife Sherry and her family moved into a home in a rural part of Oklahoma. Being only 12 years old at the time she never thought anything much about ghosts or spirits and spent most of her time doing what children do, playing. One morning when she was getting ready to go to school, she was walking through the living room when she saw her younger sister Patty run and hide behind a chair. Thinking nothing about it she went into the kitchen where her mom was sitting and told her that Patty better hurry up or she is going to be late for school. Her mother stated that Patty had already left for school. Sherry told her mom that she just saw her in the living room giggling and playing. They both searched the house but didn't find Patty. Sherry could not forget about seeing the little blond headed girl running and hiding behind a chair. Weeks later on an early fall morning when the fog was clearing the fields, her older brother John was out back of the house chopping wood. He paused for a moment when he heard sounds of children laughing and giggling coming from up on a hill. He looked up to see what appeared to be two children, a boy and a little blond headed girl running through the field. The two children disappeared into the fog. Later when he returned inside he mentioned this occurrence to his mom, she laughed and said it was probably the Kurtz's children. John didn't know what she was talking about. Later that year, Sherry's family decided to build onto to the old house. As they were knocking down one of the walls, they found a little gold locket. When they opened the locket inside were the pictures of two children, one little boy and one little blond headed girl. Sherry was amazed. She told her mom that the picture of the little girl was that of the little blond headed girl she saw hiding behind the chair. Her brother John, who never heard of Sherry's encounter, also stated that the pictures were those of the children he had seen while chopping wood. Never hearing of the others sightings, they both looked at each other in amazement. Sherry's mom explained that these were the children of the Kurtz family who use to live in the house before they did. Mr. Kurtz was an avid pilot and late one evening when taking off from a local airport for a family vacation, the plane crashed and killed all the members of the family. Sherry's mom also told about various times when she had seen the children. They ended up mailing the locket off to one of the Kurtz's relatives and the lost souls of the children were never seen again. Submitted from Bert:Texas
